Nine Dots Leadership

Shared Values

a Management expects that identified shared values are essential to the company's overall performance and will not only help guide decision-making throughout the organisation, but will also help energise employees and enhance their commitment to the company.

Employees who feel included in the decision-making and planning will be innovative in solving problems. This is not "rocket science". The outcome is that all the stakeholders have developed the solution.

Strategies to strengthen employees' sense of inclusion
At the group/team level:

  • Create a context that encourages innovation
  • Give employees signals that the team is well managed
  • Capture employees' imaginations through team-wide
    communications on important achievements
  • Encourage all employees to reach a level of achievement
that is a notch higher than what is expected of them
  • Emphasise the importance of operating with integrity in
    internal and external dealings

At company level:

  • Encourage employees to share constructive criticism of ideas,
to challenge traditional ways of doing things while respecting
    other peoples' ideas.
  • Emphasise the importance of operating with integrity in
    internal and external dealings
